Taylor Swift Announces Surprise Album ‘Midnights’ After VMAs: See Album Cover

During her acceptance speech for Video of the year at the MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift announced she’d be dropping a new album on October 21.

However, fans only had to wait a short hour more to be delighted by the thrill of the first look at the album cover for her 10th studio album and the name of her next masterpiece, Midnights. 

The release of this album would mark her return to original music in two years.

“We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears,” Taylor wrote in her post announcing the album. 

“We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t – right this minute – about to make some fateful life-altering mistake. 

This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.
